I have always flown with Continental for many years. I enjoy the simplicity of their check-in procedures, e-mail notifications and, recently, the ability to check in using a mobile device.
I have an iPhone 3G for a year now and it is an awesome time-killer in the plane. I either watch videos, listen to podcasts or play a game of Flight Control.
Wouldn’t it be great to have Wi-Fi on the plane just to chat with friends or surf the web?
Recently, I caught an article on MSBNC about airlines providing Wi-Fi access to their customers. I am disappointed that Continental is not in the list.
I decided to go to my Continental account and use their service called Ask Alex. (You have to log in to see the Ask Alex service.) By simply asking about broadband access on the plane, Alex simply says “We don’t currently offer onboard Wi-Fi or broadband services.” By the way, Alex has a lady voice.
I have to check up on them from time to time to see when will they provide onboard internet so I can chat with my friends using Fring on my iPhone.
